Why complain?

Because I expect better.

I can't quite get over the fact that the official 'World's Sexiest Woman' comes from about ten miles along the A390.

actually I think they make a good point, I just don't like Transformers, and it's really not because of the effects, it's because the story is stupid and the dialogue is simple. If the whole movie was just bangs and crashes I'd enjoy it.

The video preview image spoils the start of the video a bit, alas :) I think that it's absolutely right about sometimes/often seeing something for the experience rather than something more objective. Ironically, both the most and least "arty" films tend to be about the experience rather than the making sense.

However, I went in to Transformers and Transformers II determined to like it. Both films had lots and lots to like. But eventually I had to admit that 1 (a bit) and 2 (a lot) were rather boring. If your giant robot battle is boring, it's wrong. So I totally agree that films can be awesome without making any sense, but I don't think Transformers was (which I assume is the point they were making :) )

That is some seriously excessive amount of teal and orange

And if this movie were scored by Children of Bodom playing at maximum volume, I might be willing to see it.

Unfortunately, I suspect it has dialogue.

you.... like Children of Bodom?

wow. I mean, I knew someone had to, I just didn't think I'd ever encounter them :D

I know of them loosely, and the music in the video sounded a bit like them. Did I inadvertently do the UK equivalent of admitting to liking Nickelback while in Canada?

I may be somewhat unusual in enjoying both films rather a lot, purely for the bangy robot action. The acting and writing are exactly as good as I expected

the new love interest [she's someone famous, right?] just looks annoying.
