I was impressed by this.

A nice demo of the virtual texturing technique (also seen as MegaTexture in the engine for the next game from iD). Being able to zoom all the way in and out, and to fly over the whole area without any loading time at all is damned impressive.

Very clever way of handling it too. I suppose normal repeat textures could be used at lower heights/ shallower angles to add some more detail without the normal tiling effects.
