Wheeee!

I popped out to Boots at lunch to pick up something to deal with the cold Adam gave me at the weekend. It's not that bad, just a constant trickle of gunk down the back of my throat that keeps making me cough.

I was recommend Nirolex - active ingredients Pseudoephedrine and Dextromethorphan. Shortly after taking some, I started feeling much better. Far too much better, if you see my meaning. So I looked up the two substances online and discovered that Pseudoephedrine is a lesser form of Ephedrine, a stimulant related to amphetamines while Dextromethorphan is taken by students who want to get out of their heads and can have similar effects to Ketamine and PCP in sufficient quantities.

Yay for over the counter medicine!

Ephedrine is even better. Very speed like. Complain of a tight chest and you will probably get something called "Do-Do Chesteze" which contains ephedrine. You can also order it from abroad - and it's not illegal.

Take it too much and when you stop you just want to sleep for a couple of weeks. Take it with alcohol and you bibble. I was on my way to having a problem with the stuff (original reason was that it helps a bit in maintaining muscle when you diet, and is also an appetite supressant), using it to counteract too little sleep and too much wine so I avoid it now.

It wasn't a cough syrup that you got there Andy???

Or if it was I hope it was the sugar free version...

Not to worry, you'll get used to looking. Sugar is in just about everything pre-processed. I remember telling Sean that, and him protesting and me picking up packets of breakfast cereal in the supermarket and showing him that they all had sugar (except, as I pointed out, porridge oats, shredded wheat and Allbran.)

My tooth decay paranoia led me to examine medicines too.

Take some Zicam up the nose, too. It kills the symptoms and shortens the duration.
