Although, hmm. Now you've got me wondering: if I had to pick a cut-off point in time and was allowed to officially disavow everything stupid I said before then but not after, what date would I pick, and why?

I suppose there'd have to be some incentive in favour of picking earlier dates, otherwise the obvious answer would be "two minutes ago", or perhaps even "a hundred years in the future".

The incentive is that you're not allowed to claim anything you said before that cut-off period either.
