I did a pole dancing course a few years back, it was great fun, although after the first lesson you discover muscles you never knew you had.
You can get 2 types of poles that you can actually use at home, one of which is weighted to the floor (but therefore not that stable), the other is attached to ceiling and floor so you can actually do proper moves on it. No, I haven't looked into this much at all for where I currently live, honest :P

The fiancee of a friend of mine has a portable pole.

When told off by the partners at her law firm for going en masse for pole dancing lessons she told them they should pay her more.
