Okay, this is pretty impressive

Whether people _want_ to be able to waggle virtual eyebrows at each other is a different matter, it's still damned impressive that they _can_ do it.

Not as impressive as the new Samsung versions of Microsoft Surface v2

The LED array of the screen doesn't just have the usual red, green and blue LEDs it has a fourth infrared LED and a collector. A whole new method of touchscreen tech. The precision of resistive touchscreens and the multi-touch of capacitive. Demonstrated with twenty fingers being detected last night.

The other major benefit was as the tech doesnt need to physically touch the finger it can be put behind "gorilla" glass and withstand a glass full of a pint of liquid dropped from 18 inches.

I think kinect feels like the game changer for xbox and it's almighty competition for the wii. Being able to do that kind of funky stuff without having to piss about with an actual controller in your hands and actually making it work? Well done, Microsoft. And I think, long term, unless nintendo can come up with something at least as good, the wii is done for.

The PS3 offering is just pitiful.
