It sounds like it will be exceptionally cool-looking. However, the first thing when I think about both of these movies is hoping they dod it right. I fear that the 3rd film will end with a suddenly regreened Earth and people leaving their pods miraculously not needing weeks or months of physical therapy, and that would be a deeply silly but completely Hollywood ending.
I'm hoping for some sort of reconciliation with the AIs and a realization that the Matrix is essentially the only place humans have to live until the Earth has been effectively terraformed. This sort of ending would both make sense and would be a far more complex interesting resolution. I think it's actually possible that the brothers Wachowski are actually clueful enough to go for this sort of ending (something I would not believe about 90+% of movie makers) but I'm not certain.
It does indeed sound fascinating. No doubt the films will look amazing, I just hope the plot lives up to my expectation.
This article has just pushed the film above X-Men II on my can't wait to see list. But then X-men 2 is released first so it will eventually be back in the number 1 spot for a week or so.
Well, I suspect the basic idea will remain as laughably stupid as before, unless they retcon it away as "the human's believed that X was happening, but actually it was Y."
I always liked Neil Gaiman's explanation that human creativity was better than the AI's and therefore they were kept around to come up with wacky ideas for the machines to make use of.

Hope they get a plot this time (hopefully one that isn't as laughably stupid as the first one).
