Nice quote

Living with one child is like living with a demanding, but mostly reasonable, roommate who really likes spending time with you until she goes to bed early.

Having two or more children is like living in a circus where all the performers are deaf.

From this HN discussion of how having a baby changes your life.

Less than 10 comments in and there was the start of arguments about 1) breastfeeding and 2) cosleeping. Ah, parenting discussions on the internet, don't ever change.

Good quote, though.

Also, the total Wrongness of the circus simile has been bothering me all evening. It'd be a v crappy circus that relied solely on audio cues to synchronise a performance - the acoustics of a crowded big top would see to that. And you could all lean BSL if you didn't already know it, for rehearsals. Which is another thing - you don't get to practice before the performance with parenting. And circus performers' interests are all reasonably well aligned - they all want to put on a good shownthat people will come back for. And the ringmaster can sack recalcitrants if push comes to shove.

Hmm - actually that's given me an idea ...
