Ok. Let's say that you have an email thread with 67 emails in it. And you want to keep two of them for doing stuff with later. How does one do that with gmail conversation view?
I frequently get that many responses to a post on LJ, and they all get threaded together. If I want to save a couple of proper replies later, then they're in the middle of that.
I also frequently start the day with an email saying "Hi" to a friend or two, and then we're still replying when I leave the office in the evening. There'll be at least 50 emails in that thread, and freqently a fair bit more.
Fortunately I don't have to worry about using workarounds like that any more - I can just read them all individually. Context is rarely a problem with email for me, so having them all grouped together doesn't gain me anything.
All of my stuff goes to andrew@ducker.org.uk. It's the only email account I actually use. I used to also use andrew@notzen.com, but I haven't even checked that in an age.

Also, if you forward them and change the subject, they fork off.
When do you have 67 emails in a thread? Mailing lists? I hate mailing lists; they're completely unusable and antiquated.
