I had no idea till now that "segue" was the same word as the one pronounced "seg-way". Or that "victuals" was the same word as the one pronounced "vittles".
> I learned not to throw a ball like a "girl" or to be non-sexist about it, ineffectively, you step forward with the the leg opposite your throwing arm.
I suspect that I am an ineffective ball-thrower, because reading this makes me wonder what the heck one's legs have to do with throwing a ball. It annoyed me when I was kid and my brother said that I threw like a girl... but I guess it isn't whether you're a girl or boy or whatnot, but simply whether or not someone has taken the time to teach you the best method of doing something.
"If you are an adult, and your friends are trying to goad you into doing something that you feel insecure about (singing, dancing, what have you), it is because they like you and want to have fun with you, not because they want to see you embarrass yourself. Trust your friends."
This one I struggle with. Even more so if you replace "want to see" with "don't care if". :>
_You_ run the poll. Or trust the one linked to on that post :->
If you think about it - the distance from your arm down your side and under your buttock is shorter than twisting it around behind you, particularly if you're heavy. It's thus much easier for some people to stand up and bend over.
Can I have my life back now please? I have spent 2 days learning many things I was doing wrong that other people have done wrong before me. Which was mostly very funny and despite a certain amount of disgruntledness occasionally did not lead to anyone calling anyone else a Nazi. Even when the boiled egg conversation got really heated.
