Ten million yeses for the psychodrama one; so true, so very true!
And thanks for the story of Dr. Holden; I hadn't heard that at all. For once I completely agree with one of the comments, too. Why are *footballers* held up as heroes instead of men like that?
Sales vs users, US vs global, but Nokia have been making what I'd consider smartphones for ages (my 5800 is an old model I got because it was bottom of the range now), and they're a big player in the US from what I can tell.
Are they for some reason excluded from those Comcast smartphone stats?
Nokia, so far as I can tell, doesn't exist in the US market. They refused to bow to carrier demands for branding, so you can't buy their phones easily through carriers and have to pay full price for them.
Ah, that possibly explains the 8% share in the first figures compared to Samsung, who I'm sure sell phones over here but I'm not sure I've ever seen one.
Weird how different decisions cause weird distortions.

The above is US figures, but has Apple in 2nd place, but doesn't list Nokia, whereas that techcrunch post from the other day (Decoding Microsoft’s Fantastic Passive-Agressive Numbers Post) says Nokia outsell Apple in the Smartphone market 3:1.
