Lunch

Spent lunch in Princes Street Gardens, eating sandwiches, enjoying the sun, watching the girls walk past, chatting to Stephen.

The breeze was enough to keep me from getting too hot and there was a slight haze over everything.

Truly fantastic.

Sadly, I'm now in the air-conditioned, noisy, fluorescent office.

Dammit.

I second that emotion.

Lunch in the gardens will definitely have to become a more regular occurance, as the 'summer' gets warmer. Definitely the ideal break from coding, and far better than the stuffy canteen.

I always try to eat my lunch outside if it's at all nice. I spent mine watching kids get the swings down from the cross bar and a dad playing football with his kids.

Are the daffodils blooming yet? I will never forget a day I spent in Edinburgh when the hill below the castle was simply covered in daffodils. It was gorgeous.

Princes Street Gardens may not have them yet, but I'm lucky enough to be able to walk along the Meadows to reach my work, and have watched a sea of waving green fronds become a field of bright, dazzling yellow. Beautiful.

Come visit. And bring the kitty with you.
