Amy's Choice

Really liked it. Nicely self aware (for obvious plot-related reasons), and some great lines of dialogue. Not the best episode of Who I've seen, but a good solid one.

It was nice to have an episode that really felt as if it fitted properly into a 45 minute slot.

Yup.

The only thing that annoyed me was when it looked like Amy had chosen the correct answer by guessing. When it turned out that neither reality was real I was a lot happier. (I'd guessed that was going to be the case earlier, but wasn't sure it was going to go that way.)

I liked the unreality of both realities, the sarcasm of the "Dream Lord", and the general feeling of the whole episode. Also, the misdirection of making the episode title a reference to Sophie's Choice was very neat.

Yeah, and then when the Doctor was prepared to go along with her guess, just because he didn't have a better plan...

But maybe that ties into a larger theme of the season and why Amy Pond is so dreadfully important somehow.

Hmm - I was disappointed that Amy didn't actually have a hard choice at all in the end. Given two realities, no way to distinguish, exciting stranger is in both but in one of them your fiancé is dead ... it's hardly a philosophical trolley problem, is it?

I'm certainly not one to argue that you can't love more than one person at a time, but it did seem a bit of a dramatic cop out for a choose-between dilemma to sprout a choose-both option.
