Except that we were hit worse than other countries, because we were leveraged further. It's generally acknowledged, I believe, that our internal regulation was more lax than most countries in Europe, because Labour wanted the tax that the financial sector brought in, and believed that they knew what they were doing.
I certainly don't blame Brown for the global problems - although others (like Vince Cable) were warning of the problem in advance - but I do blame him for the state of regulation we have.
