I've noticed a fair few people complaining about LJ being crap over the last several days. And I've not noticed the problem, but am now wondering if that's because I'm a paid user.

Some computer terminology

Fuck - an exclamation of anger, generally directed at a compiuter.
Fucked - either not working, or working incorrectly.
Fucker - a computer, generally in a state of disrepair.
Fucking - to work incorrectly, or fail to work at all.

Using the knowledge gleaned in the last lesson you should now be able to decipher the following technical statement.

"Fuck! The fucking fucker's fucked!"

(or to put it another way, my computer just rebooted itself for no reason.)

My Rain Forest - All Mine!

Cool Earth strikes me as an interesting idea. I'm sure I've seen it before elsewhere, but I'm not sure where.

Basically you buy up chunks of rain forest and then they can't be chopped down.

Anyone care to comment on whether it's actually workable?

Birthday Songs

On my birthday (August 21st) I'll be off to see Foo Fighters, supported by Nine Inch Nails. I'm not terribly interested in Foo Fighters, but will undoubtably borrow an album or two in advance so I at least know the hits. If anyone else wants to join me, that'd be cool :->
