Oh, I have no objection to Apple owning ARM stock - they have a definite interest in the area. I just don't want ARM to stop designing for general use.

From what I can tell, Apple buying ARM would probably end up as an advantage for Intel in the long run with their Moorestown setup. That said it'll also kill off a hell of a lot of smaller setups that produce ARM compatible designs.
Exactly. My last phone was ARM based, my next phone is ARM based - while I have no problem with Intel, I believe they've only improved their low power processors so much because of competition from ARM.
