I never liked 2001

But this crossing of it with Dr Who's The Wheel In Space is very nice - especially for the ending.

Oo-er. Not only impressive but it makes more sense than the original film ever did.

2001 is one of those very rare films where reading the book first makes it better. A lot better.

When you know what's supposed to be going on, the film is a pretty good companion/visualisation of the story. But as a film on its own, it's very opaque. Ah well.
