I just handed the plumbers a thousand pounds.  That's that done.  Now it's just the damp to sort out!

Of _course_ poor kid. I don't think anyone thinks that what happened to Anne Frank is anything other than horrific and disgusting. I've been to Auschwitz and Theresienstadt in search of missing family with my parents and uncle, I don't think I'm lacking in emotion over the horrors of the final solution.

But that doesn't mean I can't find humour in the contradiction of things like that picture. Things can be offensive and amuse me, and I don't think that makes me a bad person.

Ah. It's the kind of black humour that's entirely appropriate and probably neccessary if you're kin, and you are kin, so that makes it OK, (except that perhaps kin should only make such jokes with other kin).

Me, I'm not. When I see her face I want to kill somebody responsible. It's a visceral thing. Didn't mean to come over all Conan.

Heh - it's fine. I also get visceral responses to this stuff - when the recent child abuse case was all over the papers I could _totally_ understand the people that wanted them hung from the nearest lamppost. And I can definitely see that some people don't have a sense of humour about things that are that unpleasant - but I'm not going to let it stop _me_ having a sense of humour about it.

Hmm. I think I need to write a decent post about this at some point.
