I use LJ to read a whole bunch of syndicated feeds (comics and people) - and the syndication system has now been down since the 12th!

Does anyone have any idea what they've done to destroy their RSS reader??

There are so many RSS readers available for Windows/Linux/Mac OS X, and if you don't want your feeds to be machine-specific there are other more reliable RSS services (Google Reader is mentioned elsewhere). LJ has always been buggy, unreliable and often updates feeds later than the message is posted, so I'm at a loss to explain why people still use it as their main source of RSS...

I don't. When it comes to news feeds I use Google Reader. But it's generally worked well enough to read my comics feed here - which I find a lot easier on the eye on than Google Reader, especially when combined with the friends filtering functionality.
