I don't know either, but as a Cat's Mother, if the cat can get in they can always get out.
If they do get stuck, laughing at them will result in the fastest self removal of the cat from the bowl and a very indignant look from aforementioned cat.
My youngest cat is pretending not to notice this and is doing her best to look all innocent. As she does.
