Updated for the kids

I picked up the remastered version of Monkey Island.  Julie is not impressed with what they've done to Elaine:

Now, admittedly they're both skinnier, with longer necks, but I have to say that the original is a lot sexier than the new one.

Ditto. The later games have a decent consistent goofy look, but to me the originals will always look the way they looked: that Elaine has gravitas and it still funny, rather than everything being solely ridiculous.

The first picture looks rather as if it's in slightly the wrong aspect ratio: they both look somewhat vertically squashed. This seems more plausible to me:

(Hopefully everyone else's browser will scale the image the same way Firefox did in response to that HTML.)

Yes, I noticed that. Presumably, therefore, the poor choice of aspect ratio was made during the image's construction, at some point before the people were superimposed over the fireworks.
