  Professor Kelly Musick and Dr Ann Meier of Cornell University have carried out a study of children whose parents stay together for the sake of the kids.
  
  It turns out their children do worse than any other group â“ including those of divorcees or single mums. If you are raised by arguing parents who stayed together only for you, then you are 33 per cent more likely to become a binge-drinking teen than if you have a single parent, for example.

D'oh!

Clearly that could never apply to anyone before 1996. Back in the days of the walkman, we had to invent fire, the wheel, writing, music, astronomy, cartography, electricity, the motor car, etc. in the 13 or so years between my birth and 1984!

Kids these days, don't even know they're born... blah, blah... etc., etc :)
