Online photo storage - any suggestions?

Anyone got a good suggestion for online photo storage?

While I think of it - what's a good offline solution that includes tags and galleries?

I'm looking for something for my Dad that will work as a decent end-to-end solution.  So far nothing is looking great...

I've been using flickr for about 5 years now - is that the sort of thing you mean? I really like it (features and organisation of pics is great), but then again, I've not tried anything else.

I second the Flickr recommendation. You'll need a yahoo account to manage it I believe.

I quite like Picasa, for which you need a Google account. Does a decent job of face recognition and geotagging.

I got started on Photobucket back before the other options were available. It's fairly idiot-proof, and it supports galleries. I'm not certain about tags, though. the biggest limitations are that it's free version is ad-supported and that free accounts have a 2MB size cap.

-- Steve keeps using it more out of inertia than any particular merit, but it's very handy for web work.

The size cap is per-image; total size of an account is 100 GB I think.

-- Steve wishes he'd bought the edit function here sometimes.

I really like Flickr, but that is an obvious choice so I assume that you have investigated this and that it doesn't work for you or your father.
