Sounds like a good weekend to me. ;)

What a ridiculous video.

I hope no one who reads your journal is stupid enough to watch this video and nod approvingly as if this actually represents what Christians (or Jews thought). Half of this is "What the Bible says" from the creationist quote-mining school of referencing, and the other half is the 'you have to be drunk to think this argument makes sense' school.

For example, yes Abraham did have sex with his wife's slave (Hagar), and God is very angry that he did this. Abraham did this because he did not believe that God would fulfil his promise to provide children through his wife (and so he thought he'd 'help God along'). That the Bible records what people did (such as polygamy) does not God *approved* of those things, and in fact for many of the things in the video I'm aware of how the passages they quote from explain how these are bad examples. To take another example, Solomon did have many wives, and this is shown in the account of Solomon to be his downfall.

A marriage in the bible is shown to be between a man and a table condiment because someone who was married later got turned in to a pillar of salt? What a load of garbage.

You must be new here.

Also, creationist quote-mining? You're thinking of something else.

Hello.

No, I am not new here. I have been reading and commenting on [Bad username or site: andrewduckers' / @ livejournal.com] blog for many years.

The video horrifically rips things out of context to make ridiculous points.
