I've almost given up on this for Dr. Who, but spoiler cut please? I'd like to watch an episode without going, "oh she's getting in the tardis at the end".
Hmm. I think you'll find it impossible not to see loads of pictures of her before the episode airs in 9 months time. But I'll stick her behind a cut this once.
Aw, man, I didn't mean it! Now I feel bad :( It may even have got better since the few I watched, to be fair. Plus, that girl is pretty.
I just thought 'ohhh is this the start of another of those days/weeks/9 months (?!) where my friends list is totally full of people going on about that darn programme, AGAIN?' so thought I would make a tongue-in-cheek comment to that effect. Mainly cos I'm bored. Point taken though - every now and again people do 'drop in on my journal and tell me the things I love suck', and it is indeed a rubbish thing! I will be nicer on the internet in future.
Yeah, don't sweat it too much. I've been deliberately being more sensitive about people knocking stuff, because I know how poisonous it can be - and it ends up with people not being willing to admit to liking stuff, because they'll get knocked for it.
But on the other hand, a response like "Because I don't care about Dr Who? And we won't get to see her on TV for _9 months_" would have been just fine by me.
I know you didn't mean to be negative, so really don't worry about it :->
definitely! You would think I'd know better, given that my life and even recent lj has been a non-stop CRUSADE OF NICENESS (sort of). Too much work, not enough lazing around in the sunshine, that's my excuse ;)
And yeah, also, people should definitely be proud to like stuff! Even/especially stuff that other people don't like, that makes it remarkable.
What she's doing is conforming to some patriarchal women-must-always-look-vaguely-orgasmic-or-possibly-just-vapid standard of beauty. Compare, if you can find one, a man photographed with his mouth like that. Betcha it'll be porno.

We all have different tastes, and responding to people's excitement like this doesn't do anything apart from make people feel bad.

See, so you did start it by saying I was made of fail, but then in the course of my comeback it turned out that I actually am made of fail, so touché.
