• Stockings do not help with stroke clots
  The Edinburgh team studied over 2,500 stroke patients in the UK, Italy and Australia.
  
  All received routine care, including aspirin and assisted exercise, and half were offered surgical stockings as well.
  
  After 30 days there was no significant difference in the blood clot rate in the two groups.
  
  However, the group given stockings experienced more skin breaks, ulcers and blisters than those without.

That article on Cameron is rather scary. I worry, again, how much two party systems screw things up. I would love to believe in a miracle that would let the UK elect a Lib Dem government, but that's as unlikely as Ireland electing a Labour/Green coalition, instead of simply changing support to the other big party who'll just screw up in different ways. :(

And The Met wonder why their relationship with the public is breaking down. The officer who altered his notes 'acted naively.' Isn't that called tampering with evidence, and/or attempting to pervert the course of justice? Well, it would be for the rest of us and we'd (rightly) go to prison for such a thing. They really don't get it do they?

I was kind of hoping for a corollary study that looked at the use of fishnet stockings, rather than surgical ones.

The Laffer curve is complete shite. I thought that article would be Hari bad-mouthing Cameron - because even though I loathe the Tories I didn't think they could be that stupid. But Cameron said it himself. *adopts Corporal Frazer voice* We're all doomed.
