Harsh Language

I am significantly amused  by the names of three support communities - [livejournal.com profile] suckitupdyke, [livejournal.com profile] whateverfaggot and [livejournal.com profile] tranny_please - for lesbian/gay/trans people to give "realistic, helpful, and no bullshit advice" to each other.

I'm not sure why the names work for me so well.  Possibly it's the sense of humour and reclaiming of language, but they tickle me.

"faggot" still reminds me of the meatball things i used to love when i was little. sadly i tried them again a few years ago and they were gross, although i may have made the mistake of reading the ingredients beforehand.

Ah "Brain's faggots". I remember them when I was a kid too. I always thought the ingredients list was in the title...

That and "I'm nothing like a bundle of wood!" being the comeback to the barely-understood playground insult.
