But on item 1, self-report from teachers of disruption may differ by gender - women might not report behaviour as disruptive when men feel it is. That's at least as persuasive an account of the data as that kids play up more for men. "Swearing" is fairly objective, though, again, people might count different words, and tend to remember incidents more or less often, since it seems to be asking for retrospective reporting. I'd be interested to see whether the same results happened in a study using pre-decided criteria and observer judgements.

Generally I don't tend to find this kind of post interesting but with yours I find myself following at least one link on average and quite often two or three.
