The strange wonders of technology

I totally failed to realise the clocks went back last night, because every clock I own automatically sets itself to the right time. It wasn't until I chatted to Erin that I found out that they had.

I have had to wander around the flat checking the clocks anyway, because I don't know which reset themselves and which don't. Heating and hot water don't. Now I have to work out how to actually change them...

Oh I just realised the clocks went back last night

..and this is why I have to get up at 445 tomorrow morning. Stupid dawn being an hour earlier!

[identity profile] pennski.livejournal.com 2008-10-26 11:55 am (UTC)(link)
That's not fair. Most of us get extra time.

[identity profile] henriksdal.livejournal.com 2008-10-26 12:12 pm (UTC)(link)
And I bet when the clocks go forward an hour int he Spring I'm not on any dawn surveys. Bah!

[identity profile] pennski.livejournal.com 2008-10-26 12:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooh, what are you surveying at dawn?

I have to plot geese flightlines, which is marginally better than counting Black Grouse, that involves getting up at 3am and sitting very still and quiet on a hill for three hours, often in knee deep snow, while absolutely nothing happens.

Wow!

Thanks for letting me know.

i know i knew it was some time round now, but i'd have missed it as well. though not every clock in the house resets itself, and now the one we couldn't figure out how to change doesn't need to be !!!!

I told you yesterday morning! :)

[personal profile] bookzombie lovingly reset the alarm clock last night, only to see it reset itself on the digital signal a few minutes later.

Apart from my car clock I think we've caught up with everything now.

Oh I loved that extra half hour sleep.

[identity profile] vereybowring.livejournal.com 2008-10-26 12:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes clocks changed, I was in the unenviable position of being awake an extra hour and yes 2 am came and went twice.
It's a drag when you experience it coz you ain't sleeping.

I didn't realize until I read this post.

Didn't know there was the same stupid daylight wastings rule on the other side of the pond, too.

edit: Oh, we extended our date to first week of November. Nevermind.
