TBH, you're probably right. I've never seen any of the Harold & Kumar stuff - it looks /awful/, frankly - whereas I'm quite a fan of (at least the 1st couple of) the /American Pie/ movies.
No-one ever notices, but he was also one of the acapella jazz band in AP#1, too. (The ensemble Oz joins to impress sensitive chicks like Heather [Mena Suvari].) So possibly not only can he act, but sing, too...
The first Harold and Kumar movie is rather good (if only for the chemistry between the two main leads and Neil Patrick Harris being a great golden god of comedy).
I haven't seen the AP movies for about 4 years but I shall return to see Mena at her height.
I have this feeling Pegg and Cho will own the Star Trek movie :) I am not sure if there will be room for an acapella number on the bridge but my mind is pretty open.

I beg to differ my good sir, he's all about the weed!
(Actually, I think he would prefer to be known for his outstanding stand up comedy as opposed to the superficial stereotype of the Kino).
Still, the man can act and I think he will be a superb Mr Sulu.

They're awesome! Especially the battle shot of the Kelvin.
Actually, the one not awesome picture is the bridge shot. It looks like something out of Galaxy Quest.
