I started watching, but I actually find the whole thing is undercut dramatically by the use of the fucking REQUIEM FOR A DREAM song as their background music.
On the bright side, it did remind me that I have to figure out wtf is going on with my absentee ballot/re-registration.
I think it's been over-used. It was a wonderful, moving piece when it was in RFAD, then when it was co-opted by LOTR that was still kind of cool. But at this point I think it's a sad comment on the glamorization of war and politics that the only piece of music the person who made it could think of was that song. Kind of like when every Buffy fan out there swore undying love for Sarah McLachlan on the basis of "Full of Grace" being used at the end of series 2. (I think it was series two, anyway).
Not a perfect analogy but do you understand what I'm getting at?
