Eastercon nervousness

I'm currently reading Accelerando and making notes for a discussion group at Eastercon.  Made more nervous because I like Charlie and don't want to make a _complete_ idiot of myself by saying the wrong thing.

I'll just have to hope he doesn't drop into the session. Or that if he does he's willing to take the damn thing over.

On the plus side, this is my third time through it, and I still love it.

Rest assured, I'll be too damned busy to drop in. They work us like dogs, you know.

I wish I could work like a dog. Jennie's two spend most of their day sleeping and the rest whinging at me to either feed them or take them out. They're currently doing both, lovely.

I see it's already settled, but FWIW my plan was always that the GoHs would not attend their book clubs - I didn't specifically say they couldn't, but I'd rather it was a discussion of the novel uninhibited by their presence. Besides, we're working them all to death, so I doubt they'll have the time or energy to turn up...

Also much harder to talk about areas where the book is flawed or otherwise fails in some way when the author is RIGHT THERE, even if you think they wouldn't mind.

Email received. Cat-herding in progress...

I just started it this afternoon, and recognized your name in the acknowledgments.

Also, I want to be a venture altruist. Hah!
