Being of germanic descent, I open presents after first-star on the 24th.

I can happily say that getting my grubby paws on an Eee has made me terrifically happy.

Also, Zelda: Phantom Hourglass from Hugh/Meredith. And books (including Glasshouse) from Lilian, and the Indiana Jones movies and The Little Prince from Ed.

Present exchange with Julie is happening when we both return from the bosoms of our respective families.

I'd be interested in your Eee opinion when you'd used it a bit.

I have 4 OLPCs enroute to me atm.

So far - keyboard is perfectly usable. Not as good as a large laptop, but easily as good as the bluetooth one that came with my phone.

Software selection is fine, although I'm sure I'll be grappling with apt-get before the year is out.

Screen is a little small, but perfectly useful for its primary function - writing documents at writing group.

So, it's a really small laptop? That's way cool. Am seriously considering whacking a new laptop on my credit card when I hit Hong Kong. I need a new computer anyway and they're much cheaper in Asia. Would you help me research it?

Also, thank god! I've been having withdrawal symptoms for Zelda. Wheeee! (yes, all your presents are also my presents. You should know this by now. Ok, ok, only joking! But can I play Zelda Pleeeeeease?)

It is way cool. It's a little small keyboard wise - but perfect for writing group/on trains. I'm using Mum's full-size laptop at the moment though, because it's better when I have the option.

Of course I'll help you do the research!

And you can play Zelda whenever you like - you'll just have to be over at my place, and fight Ed for the DS :->
