Transformers Review

Bad Stuff:
Bad Plot.
Awful Dialogue.
Acting that, let's face it, never came close to great.

Goof stuff:
Giant Robots Hitting Each Other!

You can rate it yourselves :->

You haven't watched the 80s cartoon episodes recently, have you?

I thought it was funny when someone, I think on Scott's LJ, said that Michael Bay couldn't do humanity in films or somethign like that.

Compared to other blockbuster type films, there were suprisingly few scenes (after the first section introducing the humans) without giant robots doing giant robot stuff.

Ashfae speaks truth.

I think it was you yourself that said an adaptation should be an adaptation rather than a direct translation. There was a real opportunity to make something interesting here.

It completely flatlined.

Giant robots for the win, as far as I'm concerned. Anyone who was there for plot, dialogue, or good characterization entirely missed the point.

A-fricken-men.

OK maybe I don't want to see Transformers after all :)
Did you ever look at that Chansons film at the Film fest?

I disagreed on at least two of three.

And sometimes the giant robots shoved swords through each others' faces, too.

Also - directed by Michael Bay - a man so talentless he really shouldn't be allowed to direct traffic.

I actually really, really liked the comedy that was most prevalent in the first half.

On the other hand, I really liked the first ten minutes or so at the military base with the helicopter attack that suggested it was going to be a reasonably serious and interesting film. Boy, was it not. :(

A Michael Bay film of an 80's cartoon series about giant robots that transform into cars: possibly reasonably serious?

I think you might have gone into the cinema with the wrong mindset :)
