Today's annoyance

I bought myself a new charger for my phone, as the old one wasn't working unless I held it at just the right angle. It was £6 rather than £20, which was nice. What it didn't say in the advert was that it has an LED built into it.

Now, like most people, I recharge my phone at night, while I'm asleep. And the soothing glow of the "I am plugged into the wall." green LED wouldn't keep me awake. However, the annoying flashing of the "I am charging your phone." blue LED that overlays it was visible halfway across the office in broad daylight.

I suspect I'm going to have to take it apart when get home and remove the LED if I want to ever be able to sleep again. I also suspect that there's no contact details, (other than "M-Tek", a name that's led me nowhere) specifically so that you can't phone them up and lambast them for one of the stupidest design decisions I've seen in a long time.

In my culture we have this thing called "black elecrical tape".

Small tidy blob of enamel paint or epoxy putty ought to work and not leave a hole.

Ahh, but blue is cool and makes it light faster!
