Struck by the fact that I've now posted 935 items on ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-syndicated.gif)

In any case, I clicked on the first ten items I ever tagged, and four of them are now dead. Of the following ten, two are now dead. Interestingly, it's commercial sites and livejournal that are the best at retaining old links - and self-hosted domains that just vanish into the ether.
I wonder if anyone has researched this.
