I do wonder if we're going to get a proper winter this year. If we don't get a cold snap soon we're going to go straight from Autumn to Spring without a proper die-back.
The main problem is the seasons are moving. For the past couple of years new growth has started to appear, then the cold snap has hit around Easter time. I have had a devil of a time with some of my plants because of it. Bubble wrap is my friend.
Almost puts me in mind of the cartoon sketch in the Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

We still have fruiting strawberries and ladybirds around. They are denied of their winter for the time being.
