The death of trust

I remember the days when getting an email from a new person would be a thrill - contact through the ether from somewhere Other, a new friend to be made and new things to be learned.

Nowadays, if I get an email from an address I don't recognise, I don't even bother to open it.

Damn spammers!

I know exactly what you mean :)

I never would have felt good at mail from a stranger. I would wonder who they were and how they got my address and what they wanted!

strangers are scary

don't talk to them :)

I'm a bit surprised to hear you say that. Spam is essentially a solved problem. People who have competant email providers or have the time and energy to do it themselves probably get about 1 a week, I reckon (speaking from personal experience). Here's what I do to filter it.
