Which is, in some ways, a very good point.  If party A was going to actively oppress you then you'd be out there voting against them.  So the fact that things are so close and people are so apathetic seems to mean that either all the parties are oppressing people equally, or that the general public doesn't feel horribly oppressed by any of them.

Either that or they're all watching Friends re-runs.

I think voting against the establishment (either Lab or Con) is generally a good idea, and although I may forgive a good hearted fool voting for Labour I could never approve of anyone voting for the Conservatives because they hate gay people.

Protest votes did nothing to keep out the National Socialists in 20's and 30's Germany...s'all I'm sayin'

So you think protest votes don't work, one should vote against the government, but not Conservative.

I'm not sure what that leaves...
