Having the hair does not make him the Geoff.

I see where you're coming from. But Geoff has a sweet toddlerish innocent air that Andy simply does not have.

Oh come on. he's a two year old. he likes nice shiney things.

That kinda sums up all the crappy-excuse-for-a-sitcom's male characters.

Geoff has a naturalistic earthiness to him. That's why he has an accent.

Not really. Steve is the straight everyman everyday-sexist one - likes lesbians and stockings. Patrick is the twat who just wants to sleep with anything with a hole. Geoff is the one who really likes women, who thinks sex is so good it can't be legal.

Jeff: I love the word naked, it's brilliant isn't it, 'naked'. When I was a kid I used to write the word naked on a bit of paper hundreds of times and rub my face in it.

I think we can both agree that's primal and earthy.

(also, apparently it's spelled 'Jeff', but I didn't know that either. Never stayed till the credits)

Also, _importantly_, everything non-Geoff in Coupling is crap.

Absolutely true. No argument there. But they're not worth having to watch the fecking Steve-Patrick-Sally entity meander around being smug.

Sally's not smug. Sally's insecure about everything in the universe. Sally's Erin & me on a bad day.

Oh, but she has that tight-lipped smirk she carries round like it was Versace.

That always looked, to me, like one of those petrified frozen smiles that people hide behind.

I'm reminded of the time that Chris Welfare got very upset at me because he thought I was looking smug, when in fact I was looking terrified.
