3. Hmm. Germany has subtantial district heating capacity; upgrading it to use heat pumps is an easy win. The UK has very little historical base.
I was at a presentation for a proposed housing development within a mile of us last year and they did mention that they were considering a site-wide ground-source heat pump, rather than air-source systems on each property.
