Polling

Some of you UK people may have noticed that YouGov is being quoted by more and more newspaper articles as a source of statistics. What you may not realise is that it's online.

If you'd like to be a pollster for them, go here and make sure you're heard...

Thats because they do two kinds of surveys : the ones you can access without being registered, which are effectively straw polls open to anyone - and the ones that they specifically invite registered users to participate in. These tend to be paid for polls, and they are all weighted for geography, income, voting patterns etc.
The former are not indicative of anything really, the latter are released to the media as they are more scientifically conducted
