Stolen from Yonmei

1) If you had to spend eternity listening to a song that had been number 1 in the uk charts, what would that song be?
2) If you could change your name, what would it be changed to?
3) If you could buy 3 (cheap) gifts for all of your close friends, what would those 3 gifts be?
4) Close your eyes. Imagine darkness. Now imagine something in the darkness. What did you see?
5) If your available space was suddenly decreased by 1/3, what would you get rid of?

Now think of 5 of your own and stick them on your journal.

1. Enjoy the silence, depeche mode.
2. Little Miss Happy.
3. Moisturiser, moisturiser and more moisturiser.
4. David Blaine.
5. Almost everything, but not my backpack.

1) On a quick glance, the Eurythmics There Must Be An Angel seems an acceptable choice. Actually, there are lots of No 1s that I really love, but eternity without silence would be hell.

2) Oh, I always dislike this question, because clearly I could change my name, and the fact that I haven't betrays a degree of contentment with what I've got. My grandma's original last name was Desanges, and I sometimes think about using that in some context or other.

3) Copies of Sei Shonagon's Pillow Book. Arundhati Roy's The Cost of Living. Some music - except that would be different for each person. So, in an effort not to make it all about me dictating what people should read: a blank book, individually decorated, and a pen.

4) A rising sun. Aren't I symbolic?

5) My stepdaughter. No, that would be Wrong. Clothes and shoes, as I have far more than I need of both.

How on Earth would I know whether a song had been number one in the UK charts?

[identity profile] dapperscavenger.livejournal.com 2003-10-12 02:34 pm (UTC)(link)
1) hard! Possibly Paul Young : Wherever I Lay My Hat or George Michael : Careless Whisper or even just Amazing Grace. I reckon lift music is the way to go.

http://www.hogweed.org/poptastic/no1s.html

2) Doom Bunny

3) Is this the same 3 gifts for everyone? Otherwise I'd be here forever. Anyway... umm... a packet of Haribo Fangtastic, a skipping rope and some pencil crayons.

4) A white mug. It's handle has been knocked off. There is a chip on the rim. The glaze has been poorly applied on one side and has sor of dried in a globular dripping fashion. The inside has dark ring stains from dirty water.

5) I could fit my belongings into less space. It's a skill :p However, I am trying to get rid of lots of stuff right now - mostly my old stuff I've grown out of.

1) That's gonna change on a daily basis.

Right now, lets just say that if the video is included, Kylie Minogue Can't Get You Out Of My Head. I'd happiily watch that for eternity....

2) Michael.

3) A car, a car, and a house. Define cheap.

4) My son.

5) My wife. Nah, kidding. Nothing - it would just be a heck of a lot more cramped.

What really? A global information network?

I'd have no idea how to get a list of UK number 1's

[identity profile] odheirre.livejournal.com 2003-10-12 04:32 pm (UTC)(link)
What is this global information network you speak of? I don't understand. How can I find one of these things?

[identity profile] tisme.livejournal.com 2003-10-12 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Mostly up Andrew's arse.

I'm going to bed!

1)I can only remember them for a little while. Perhaps Bohemian Rhapsody. Or something that was No.1 in the classical charts.

2) Tara. I know. It's my sister's name, but I've always thought it was beautiful. And people don't tend to mis-spell it.

3) A copy of the Princess Bride, a puddy cat and a live journal account.

4) A fun fair stall, with swirling music, it's circular and goes round and round, and has candy floss hanging from it, with red and yellow slanted stripes on the side, and toys at the back that you throw balls to win, and a man shouting his wares, and people milling in front of it.

5) God, that's hard. Probably sofa, bed, and a chunk of books. The rest has to stay.

1) For eternity?? @_@ It'd have to be either Spirit In The Sky Suicide is Painless.
2) Ken
3) Sex. Booze. LiveJournal accounts.
4) A grue.
5) The walls.

[identity profile] derumi.livejournal.com 2003-10-12 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Insert an 'or' between those two titles (right between 'sky' and 'suicide', preferrably).
