7. When I lived in Aberdeen, I met people who took the Press and Journal as their only newspaper. It had local, national and international news, so this was not unreasonable. This was the early nineties, people did get their news from papers.

I wonder when the Manchester Guardian stopped concentrating on events in Manchester ?

My current local paper is even older than the Guardian. Although it is no-longer locally owned, it is still full of local news and ads and the website doesn't seem to be click-baity. However my mother-in-law recently stopped getting it and switched to a TV listings mag as that was all she looked at.
