I can only assume most men don’t have romantic fantasies.
I just read a (slightly) heated discussion on the merits of Pretty Woman, as it occurred on the film board here. The main point from the male side was that it was completely unrealistic and pure fluff from beginning to end. It wasn't until a while later that a woman replied that that was what they wanted in a romantic comedy - something unreal that can take them away from the iffy realities of men who fart in bed and aren't perfect.
Oh, and the men complaining about the lack of realism in the relationships are the same ones who happily recommend The Matrix Reloaded, and therefore don't seem to be against lack of realism in general. Failing to realise that just because _they_ only have fantasies about parts of the universe involving leather and guns it doesn't mean that other people don't have different ones seems very odd to me.

You want romance, try "Ivanhoe". They show it EVERY new year's day over here.
Alternatively I rather liked "Serendipity".
On the Cusak theme, you want your cake AND eat it? "Grosse point blanke". Romance AND guns. Perfect.

i like imagining people running around shooting things, personally..
though they tend to be romantic, too.
