I am aghast at JK Rowling

JK Rowling, looking at a minority group whose medical research was burned by the Nazis[1], who are attacked to the point where their suicide and self-harm levels are massively higher than the average [2], and who are murdered simply for existing, literally[3] uses these words to describe them:

"The Death Eaters claimed, ‘We have been made to live in secret, and now is our time, and any who stand in our way must be destroyed. If you disagree with us, you must die.’ They demonized and dehumanized those who were not like them"

The lack of historical or societal understanding is just immense. I am saddened and boggled. I wish she would spend any time with trans people or the groups that help them, and see who they actually are, rather than turning them into monsters in her head.

For her to use that line that way is projection of the first water.

Definitely projection. In an abstract way, I wonder how deliberate it is, but that's a matter for her therapist, if she has one, it doesn't have to be deliberate to be appalling.
