Crossposting to Livejournal is apparently dead - possibly forever

There's a post on the maintenance page saying that it's been failing for about a week, and that LJ won't even respond to emails about it.

And apparently Livejournal have updated their Terms of Service to ban automated posting.

So that's that!

Sorry to anyone still on LJ, but you won't be able to see my posts any more, if you still were.

I am of course, still on Dreamwidth as [personal profile] andrewducker, and have no intention of moving from here unless it also gets censorious and bigoted, which seems unlikely.

Somewhat annoyingly, my 20th anniversary was in December, and I had meant to write something about that, but have had neither time nor energy to do so. I guess that I just about scraped over the line before things came to an end.

My LJ will be old enough to vote, sometime this year - not an early adopter like you! - but all good things come to an end.

Or rather: a kiss on the Internet is much like a kiss in real life. You have set your lips upon one end of a collection of tubes, and the far end of it is filled with sewage.

Oh huh -- I missed my 20th anniversary on LJ too, having stopped posting there when they switched to the Russian TOS. I got the email about this latest change and assumed that meant the end of the DW cross-poster. So sad! But eh, they're plastering ads all over permanent accounts that were promised no ads, on top of the whole Moscow thing, so I don't need to give them content to misuse. At some point I'll probably either remove my journal or make it all private. Probably the latter, so I can keep the profile that directs people here.
