Congratulations to the parents, and happy birthday to the young fellow. Were I there, I would look Sophia straight in the eye and tell her she's taken on an exciting new job: now she is the Big Sister, and that's a very important and responsible thing to be.

To be honest I'm slightly dreading introducing them to each other (Wednesday), but hopefully it will all be done!

Sophia may still be a little young for this, but most children, as they grow, crave responsibilities and acknowledgments of their growing maturity, so I figure framing the birth of a younger sibling, such a potentially fraught experience for a child, as a sign of their own maturity and as a responsibility for them to take on, can only help ease things.
