Yeah, I've been hearing this from my trans friends for some years now, and Arisia (our local SF/F con) now routinely stocks enormous numbers of pronoun ribbons of many different permutations, and encourages everyone to join in. It does a lot to normalize the fact that folks' pronouns are *not* always obvious, and that it's polite to check.
I've picked that up and am doing it for a small tech conference I help run, which has taught me that several people there are non-binary but don't usually have a way to express it. I was pleasantly surprised that something like 75% of the attendees participated -- one of the many reasons I love that conference...
