I'm glad that someone has the moral pigheadedness to stand up for themselves. Because I suspect that I wouldn't.

Not socially as far as I'm concerned. The ability to move long distances has allowed numerous people I know to make contact with people that they are far more socially suited to than the people in their local area.

Distributed societies are great, but being able to meet the distributed people is even better.

There are other methods of travelling long-distance to meet friends that don't entail the same kind of environmental destructiveness as regular air travel.
